Virus (Herpes)Combating viruses to eradicate rabies, chickenpox, smallpox or yellow fever has long been a major struggle. Thanks to various methods of hygiene and vaccination, these diseases have been contained, although there are still some residual outbreaks in some countries. But other viruses, especially ebola and avian flu, have attracted considerable attention since the pandemic of AIDS (HIV virus).

A virus’ genome is a nucleic acid (either DNA or RNA). Viruses can only multiply (by replicating their genome) when they infect a cell and use that cell’s enzymes to complete the replication process. As mutations in human viruses occur constantly, it is very difficult to find active vaccines, which is why a treatment for Ebola is yet to be found, and flu vaccines are not always efficient.

Today, global researchers are counting on products such as antiretroviral therapies for the AIDS virus, while trying to develop vaccines to the challenging viruses infecting the world’s population. Over time though, it has been realized that the various solutions, such as AZT in the 80s and now antiretroviral therapies, have side effects.

In the 1980s, Dr. Mirko Beljanski’s research showed the anti-viral action of extracts of Pao pereira (formerly known as PB-100), made from the bark of a tree that grows in the Amazon. For three centuries, Pao pereira was used in South America for various poorly defined pathologies. Dr. Beljanski showed that the extract inhibits the replication of several retroviruses that infect plants (TMV), birds (AEV) and cats (FIV). These results led to his work on the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

In November 1990, at an international conference in Monaco, Dr. Beljanski presented the curves showing AIDS virus replication in cultured lymphocytes with and without Pao pereira(1). This experiment, conducted by Professor Jachertz of Bern showed that the extract induced near complete destruction of the virus, an impressive result!

During this trial, patients did not develop opportunistic diseases so common with other therapies.

In the 80s, a grim time in France with the contaminated blood affair, many patients with AIDS or hepatitis, had used the Pao pereira extract developed by Dr. Beljanski, and the results were spectacular: opportunistic diseases disappeared in 3-4 weeks, and never returned. There are still some testimonials in the CIRIS book of testimonies (3,4) or on video.(5)

For example, in 1984, a transfusion patient was infected not only by the HIV virus (she developed AIDS with serious opportunistic infections with Stage IV C2), but she was also infected with hepatitis C. When the patient began a treatment based on the Pao pereira extract, her case of hepatitis was serious. A few weeks after she started taking Pao pereira, opportunistic diseases and hepatitis disappeared and never returned. The patient is now a happy grandmother and her testimony can be found in documents that CIRIS makes available to their members.

Gerard Weidlich, also hit by AIDS in 1985, took Pao pereira as his only therapy for over twenty years. His health was excellent for many years before he died from an embolism. His story was immortalized in a beautiful book in French called “Enquête sur un survivant illégal” (Investigation About an Illegal Survivor).(6)

The story is told in English in the book by Morton Walker “Cancer’s Cause, Cancer’s Cure“.(7)

There are many more viruses other than Ebola or HIV: such as herpes, hepatitis, avian viruses and seasonal flus. In the family of herpes, there is the cytomegalovirus. These viruses belong to a large family of viruses including herpes simplex 1 and 2, chickenpox virus, shingles, Epstein-Barr virus (responsible for infectious mononucleosis, often dormant viruses that manifest during periods of fatigue or immune deficiency).

Physicians have used the Pao extract on many of these viruses and it has been very effective without toxicity. Currently, several AIDS patients, victims of side effects with antiretroviral therapies, successfully combine a mixture of low-dose antiretroviral therapy with intake of Pao pereira to avoid the side effects.

Pao pereira extract shows both a high anti-cancer activity and a broad-spectrum antiviral activity.
