The fame of Dr. Beljanski exceeded the limits of The Pasteur Institute and soon after his first discoveries, Dr. Mirko Beljanski was invited to China by a group of scientists to help them with their research. The result of the collaboration went above and beyond expectations. Upon leaving, Dr. Beljanski was presented with a large sample box filled with many of China’s finest teas including Ceylon Green, Bi Luo Chun, Organic Gunpowder and Dragonwell.
The gift was a thoughtful present as at the time as tea was already associated with valuable antioxidant properties, but Dr. Beljanski was determined to test his samples for specific anti-cancer properties.
Once back in his laboratory, Dr. Beljanski subjected each sample to his famous Oncotest to reveal their anti-cancer properties. Dr. Beljanski wrote down the results on a piece of paper and filed it in a drawer for a later use, where it stayed for over a decade.
Years later, after the passing of Dr. Beljanski, the list was found and next to four of the teas Dr. Beljanski had written a note “very very anti-C!”

Can the blend of four-green teas help fight breast cancer? Is it asking too much of a tea to have a real effect in cancer prevention? Current models of carcinogenesis—how cancer starts—tell us that the first stages most often occur by the gradual, but persistent exposure to carcinogens in our environment, which is exactly what Dr. Beljanski stated forty years ago. Many of these carcinogens get into our cells, bind to our DNA and have a harmful effect on DNA structure, which is exactly the point of environmental medicine. After chronic interactions with carcinogens the DNA is destabilized, no longer structurally healthy, and the two strands of the duplex are sporadically separated making the DNA more vulnerable to the onset of cancer.
But if cancer starts by gradual buildup of DNA destabilization, might daily consumption of a mix of green teas with relatively potent anti-cancer effect be part of the antidote? It takes years for the DNA damage associated with cancer to develop and the habitual consumption of a tea with “very, very anti-cancer” effect can indeed be part of a prevention strategy.

Breakthrough Cancer Research by The University of Kansas Medical Center & The Beljanski Foundation
A recently published study by The University of Kansas Medical Center analyzing the anti-cancer effects of several well-known teas has shown that OnkoTea®, a newly developed blend of green teas, is most effective at inhibiting the growth of multiple cancer cell lines. This blend combines four different green teas: Ceylon Green, Bi Lou Chun, Organic Gunpowder and Dragonwell.
The anti-cancer potential of each of these four green teas was originally identified by Prof. M. Beljanski of the Pasteur Institute using the Oncotest, an assay he developed for detecting carcinogenic and anti-carcinogenic compounds. The anti-cancer activity of OnkoTea® was compared with the activity of several popular brands of tea including Bigelow, Kusmi and Lipton. The first tests analyzed the activity of OnkoTea® against breast cancer cells including one highly metastatic cell line. OnkoTea® was the best at reducing the number of breast cancer cells.
OnkoTea® also proved to be effective against liver and bladder cancer cells and showed impressive activity against four melanoma skin cancer cell lines. The data shows the viability of the cancer cell lines after exposure to extracts of each of the teas that were tested with OnkoTea® “showing the best inhibitory effect.”
The studies were conducted in vitro and tested a range of concentrations of the teas (200, 400, 600 and 800 micrograms per milliliter) at 24, 48 and 72 hour time points as shown in the images below. Cancer cell lines tested: Breast MCF-7, Metastatic Breast MDA-MB-231; Liver HepG2, Bladder 5637, Melanoma A375, UACC-257, SK-MEL-2, SK-MEL-5.

Green teas are known to have anti-cancer benefits, but the new cancer research shows that the activity of OnkoTea® stands out for having the most potent anti-cancer effect.

Many of these carcinogens get into our cells, bind to our DNA and damage DNA structure. After chronic interactions with carcinogens the DNA is destabilized—no longer structurally healthy, and the two strands of the duplex are sporadically separated, making the cell amenable to the onset of cancer.
But if cancer starts by gradual buildup of DNA destabilization, might gradual consumption of a mix of green teas with relatively potent anti-cancer effect be part of the antidote? It takes years for the DNA damage associated with cancer to develop and the habitual consumption of a tea with documented anti-cancer effect can be part of a prevention strategy.
Tea preparations are popular for its anti-oxidant and anti-cancer effects. We want to understand how different tea products could differently affect the growth of cancer cells with heterogeneity. Here we evaluated 4 popular tea products on the growth of multiple cancer cells with different genetic makeovers, including 3 green teas and a black tea, namely Bigelow Tea – Green Tea with Mint (Bigelow), Kusmi Tea – Chinese Green Tea (Kusmi), OnkoTea® – Base Tea Blend (Onko), and Lipton Tea – Lipton Black Tea (Lipton).
Panels of breast cancer cells, melanoma cells, liver cancer cells, and bladder cancer cells were tested. The results showed that:
- The effects of tea on cell proliferation was concentration dependent. At lower concentrations (< 100 µg/mL), all the 4 tea extracts increased cell viability at 24h treatment. The increase of cell viability diminished, and inhibitory effects was observed as the treatment duration was longer. At a higher concentration range (200 – 800 µg/mL), all 4 tea products inhibited the cancer cells, typically with OnkoTea® showing the best inhibitory effect and Lipton tea the least.
- The inhibitory effect was cell line dependent. The melanoma cells A375 cells showed the best sensitivity to the OnkoTea® treatment, which harbors homologous BRAF mutation. The bladder cancer cell line 5637 showed good sensitivity to the tea products, whereas the liver cancer cell line HepG2 was the most resistant of all the tested cells.

All Green Teas are Not Equal in Anti-Cancer Effect: Research shows that a special green tea blend is more effective against breast cancer.
The results of a new study comparing the anti-cancer effects of several well-known teas has shown that a newly developed blend of green teas was superior at inhibiting the growth of two breast cancer cell lines, including one highly metastatic cell line. This blend combines four different green teas: Ceylon Green, Bi Lou Chun, Organic Gunpowder and Dragonwell.

The anti-cancer potential of each of these teas was originally identified by Prof. M. Beljanski of the Pasteur Institute using the Oncotest, an assay he developed for detecting carcinogenic and anti-carcinogenic compounds. The new study confirms the activity of a combination of the four green teas against breast cancer cells.
Green teas have long been associated with anti-oxidant and anti-cancer benefits, but the new research shows that the activity of this specific combination stands out. When tested against other teas including Bigelow®, Kusmi®, and Lipton®, the four green tea blend had the most potent anti-cancer effect on the cultured breast cancer cells. Data in the figure below show the viability of the breast cancer cell lines after exposure to extracts of each of the teas tested (400 micrograms/ml). The green tea blend (OnkoTeaTM) was the best at reducing the number of breast cancer cells.
This research was conducted at a prominent medical center that has conducted many successful projects on behalf of The Beljanski Foundation. Further research is planned to explore the effects of the green tea blend on other types of cancer.
The Oncotest has been used to discover other anti-cancer plant extracts.
Before testing the green teas, Beljanski used the Oncotest to discover two plant extracts, Pao pereira (also known as PB-100) and Rauwolfia vomitoria. Beljanski’s research and the research of other laboratories have demonstrated that both extracts are selectively active against a broad spectrum of cancers from all organs in both men and women. Neither extract induces negative side effects or toxicity. Regarding breast cancer, Beljanski found that both extracts were active against breast cancer cells—just like the green tea essay (reference publication 133).
Pao pereira is known to produce apoptosis (death of cancer cells) while rauwolfia inhibits the replication cycle of cancer cells. More over rauwolfia is especially active with hormonal dependent tissues (including breast, prostate, and thyroid). It makes sense therefore to use them together as recommended by Dr. Markovitch’s protocols and reported by many others.
The green tea extract, while less potent than the Pao and Rauwolfia plant extracts, is expected to share the same pattern of anti-cancer activity, meaning that it will suppress the growth of most types of cancer.
This research was conducted at a prominent medical center that has conducted many successful projects on behalf of The Beljanski Foundation. Further research is planned to explore the anti-cancer effects of this blend of four green teas.

For homemaker Henriette B., the myriad of methods for treating breast cancer were of little concern until October 1986, when Madame B. discovered a tiny lump in her right breast. A week later the growth had disappeared, so she paid no more attention to it. But the memory remained.
Mrs. B., like most women, knew that any thickening in any section of the breast could be indicative of malignancy. She counted herself lucky that nothing came from the lump’s presence—it just got rid of itself.
Then in February of the following year, a small hollow area or indentation showed up directly in the same area of her right breast. Just under the indentation she found a small growth, the size of a pimple. But the gynecologist who had been attending to her hormonal needs for over twenty-five years refused to acknowledge that any abnormality of the breast was present. “He told me that everything was just fine,” explained Mme. B.

December 9, 2005, I discovered a lump in the left breast. I got a diagnosis through an ultrasound and biopsy. The verdict was cancer, and my doctor suggested sessions of chemotherapy and radiation.
After reflection, and because I didn’t feel comfortable with this treatment, in February 2006, I consulted another doctor who gave me more hope. This doctor recommended the Beljanski’s ingredients associated with the Breusse cure. On February 11, I started taking 18 capsules per day: 6 capsules 3 times a day, a half hour before each meal: 2 capsules of Pao pereira extract + 2 capsules Rauwolfia vomitoria extract + 2 capsules of Golden leaf of Ginkgo biloba extract.

“Breast cancer was discovered in April 2005, and I had an operation in July 2005.
The carcinome had spread, was grade 3, and my lymph nodes were very swollen. I refused treatment the first time, and then I agreed to radiation sessions. I stopped after 13 sessions. My body and my mind could no longer handle it. I met a young, attentive oncologist and told her that I would do chemotherapy only if the cancer became metastatic. She called me in September 2005 when the metastases began. I did three of the six sessions.
